St. Francis-Emory Healthcare Named to Georgia Trend’s Listing of Top Large Hospitals
December 19, 2024
St. Francis-Emory Healthcare was recently ranked among the state’s top large hospitals by Georgia Trend, a monthly publication covering business, politics, and economic development in the state. The magazine rated St. Francis-Emory seventh among the 26 large hospitals (those with 250 patient beds or more) who made its 2024 Top Hospitals listing.
“We do amazing work at St. Francis-Emory Healthcare in caring for the health needs of those in and around the Chattahoochee Valley, and at the same time, developing tomorrow’s healthcare leaders in our two residency programs,” said Jason Studley, DHA, FACHE, Chief Operating Officer at St. Francis-Emory. “It’s a nice validation for our team when our successes, delivering strong patient outcomes and engagement in a safe environment, get this kind of recognition.”
Each year, Georgia Trend evaluates Georgia hospitals that participated in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Value-Based Purchasing program. The hospitals are ranked by their total performance score, which is derived from four domains: clinical outcomes; person and community engagement; safety and efficiency; and cost reduction.
As in past rankings, Georgia Trend grouped hospitals by similar size and mission to include Teaching Hospitals, whose primary mission is teaching, regardless of size, and that are certified by the Association of American Medical Colleges Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems; Large Hospitals (250+ patient beds); Medium Hospitals (100 to 249 patent beds); and Small Hospitals (less than 100 beds). These final rankings are based upon the American Hospital Directory and CMS data released July 31, 2024.
