Hello! I am Dr. Anupa Rai, founding Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program, at Saint Francis Emory Healthcare located in Columbus, Georgia where we devote ourselves to community and people.

Our Internal Medicine Program received accreditation in January 2022. Our inaugural class of 10 PGY1s and five PGY2s began July 1, 2022. I am happy to announce that we have already graduated a class in June of 2024 and this year we are at full strength of a total cohort of 30 categorical residents. We will continue to take 10 residents each year to our Residency Program.

Our mission is to train our residents in a complex yet strategic range of clinical experiences. We are always dedicated to high quality healthcare, leadership, service, and professionalism. Together we will learn evidence-based medicine at a community hospital setting aimed at providing quality health care to a diverse population. We are not only preparing residents for their medical boards, but also providing hands-on experience in patient care required to lead a fulfilling and successful medical career. We have already included POCUS curriculum to our learning experience. Our GME program has an addition of Psychiatry program recently and that is adding to better experience of Internal medicine residents by working alongside Psychiatry residents for consult services.
